MEET #QLOCDRAGONS – Szymon Gołębiewski

Meet Szymon Gołębiewski, who is our QA Tester.

We asked Szymon some questions about his work at QLOC and more!

Check out his answers below.

What’s your job at QLOC?

I’m currently working as a video game quality assurance tester. So yes, I’m the guy who points out problematic issues to the Devs that are trying to make a proper game, by making it functional and playable, so you can enjoy it later.

What do you like most about your job?

I really appreciate my colleagues, they are always here to help, laugh, and talk about random stuff. I also enjoy the way our work is organized. We always know what, how and when to do it.

What was the most captivating task you had in QLOC?

Trying to beat one of the games I worked on, at the hardest difficulty setting. Trust me, it’s nearly impossible to beat. Me and 3 of my co-workers were trying to beat it for like 11 hours, and we managed only to complete like 4 maps out of nearly 30.

How many games have you worked on?

I worked only on two games so far. Now I’m working for almost a year on the same project and I really enjoy it. Unfortunately, I can’t mention the titles.

What have you learned from working in QLOC?

The first thing that comes into my mind is that not every job has to be stressful. Apart from that, I learned how to properly organize my work to be the most productive.

What would you advise people who think about working in QLOC?

Just go for it…. You won’t regret it.

Do you have any special powers?

My special power is the ability to make flying bubbles with saliva. In before I will not teach you that it’s mine.

What do you do in your spare time?

Mostly listening to music, sometimes I also listen to music, and when I’m not listening to music usually I listen to music. Ye, I really love music.

Are you #PCMasterRace or #TeamConsole? 🙂

Anything controller related is not for me. I was born holding a mouse and keyboard.

Enter the title of your favorite game, movie/series and book.

My favorite game from my childhood was Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Doom. My top 1 film has to be Braveheart… Fav series is Futurama and when it comes to books, it’s “The Idiot Brain” by Dean Burnett.

What game would you take with you to a desert island?

If it was back in 2013, I would say Infestation: Survivor Stories, but now (since the game is dead) I would choose Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege.
