Meet Paweł Strzelczyk who is our Senior QA Lab Manager.
We asked Paweł some questions about his work at QLOC and more!
Check out his answers below.
What’s your job at QLOC?
I am one of the Lab Managers. My duties include helping TLs and Testers in their everyday work. I am also responsible for planning and accepting QA projects from various clients.
What do you like most about your job?
The greatest part is working with my colleagues, it is the best part of being here. Everyone here has different passions as well as opinions and when we fuse our powers, we can do impossible things together! Also, I love solving our scheduling puzzles. Finding the best team for a project, or placing a project in our schedule is my everyday sudoku 😉
What was the most captivating task you had in QLOC?
Each day is a captivating task, every day I do something that I wouldn’t expect the day before. Those unpredictable tasks are funny and very captivating.
How many games have you worked on?
Around 20 combined with when I was a Tester and Team Leader – but that was a long time ago! Nevertheless, I am in almost all the Credits in games we worked on, due to my position. But hey, in fact it is quite fair, without me it would be difficult to have a testing team and the required hardware!
What have you learned from working in QLOC?
Well, everything 😉 Really, I remember myself starting work here 13 years ago, when even writing an email with clear and direct information wasn’t easy for me. Today, I am a much better person, I’ve learned a lot in all areas connected to my work. But the most valuable thing is that I am much more organized. That also helps in everyday life!
What would you advise people who think about working in QLOC?
Just do it! Be open-minded, listen to your more experienced colleagues and Team Leaders. Be ready to work as part of a team of passionate people! Be ready for challenges and extremely funny events! And you must like cookies, simply because almost everyday someone brings some to the office to celebrate birthdays or working anniversaries 🙂
Which game from the ones you’ve worked on is your favorite?
I worked on Victoria II from Paradox Interactive. Paradox Grand Strategies is my favorite genre and working on that game was more than a pleasure for me, it was a dream come true! I am proud that I was part of the team whose efforts helped create the best nineteenth century grand strategy game!
Do you have any special powers?
I think that I am Count Dracula, I am the best at counting! Whenever there is something to count, to be sure that, i.e. client demands are doable or we have enough consoles for the projects, you can count on me!
What do you do in your spare time?
I spent a lot of time in my life learning as well as playing poker and chess. I was really dedicated to those games, but that was a long time ago. Nowadays, I prefer spending time with my friends playing board games or watching football matches. You don’t have to spend hundreds of hours to be good at this and you can have fun – contrary to chess and poker. Also, I like traveling – especially in the mountains. Photo attached 😉
