Meet Michał Stark, who is our Producer.
We asked Michał some questions about his work at QLOC and more!
Check out his answers below.
What’s your job at QLOC?
I work as a Producer at QLOC.
What do you like most about your job?
Working on ambitious “triple-A” games and being surrounded by a crew of true professionals. When I think of myself and all my plans 11 years ago, it seems my dreams have come true at QLOC.
What was the most captivating task you had in QLOC?
I’d say that cooperating with one of our Japanese clients is a remarkable and captivating task because of the cultural specifics and a different approach – especially to work-related topics. I have learned a lot from them, a lot more than I could ever hope! The experience gained from this project helps me a lot in my everyday work.
How many games have you worked on?
I’ve completely lost count a few years ago. This is a common symptom for those who work in gamedev for more than 11 years.
What have you learned from working in QLOC?
Choose your words wisely while speaking with the client. 🙂 Yes, I know, it sounds trite, but in practice it is a true art. Someone who has dealt with many customers will know what is at stake.
What would you advise people who think about working in QLOC?
I’ve been working in quite a few gamedev and gamedev-related companies, each of them is an entirely different world. If you’re looking for a company that works on serious, triple A, well-known titles – QLOC is the place to be.
Which game from the ones you’ve worked on is your favorite?
Yakuza 0, it was my first project at QLOC. For the record: I was not a big fan of the genre, but this game is just completely awesome.
Do you have any special powers?
Not at all, I’m just a regular introvert.
What do you do in your spare time?
Running, biking, petting my Amazon parrot. Not mentioning games here, as it’s not my spare time (let’s call it a work time okay?) 😀
Are you #PCMasterRace or #TeamConsole? 🙂
Why not both? Some time ago I was PC Master race, but the current generation of consoles make more sense to me. So, I’m playing quite a lot on the Xbox Series X console and considering expanding my collection for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch as well.
Enter the title of your favorite game, movie/series and book.
Game: Witcher 3, movie series: “The Wire”, and book… long-time favorite is the trilogy of “Lord of the Rings”, mostly due to the sentiment, I guess.
What game would you take with you to a desert island?
Probably Hotline Miami 1 or 2, to make lonely desert island vibes even better.
Are there any work-related anecdotes you could tell?
Sorry, nothing that is safe to share with everyone comes to mind. So I leave that to your imagination. :p
