MEET #QLOCDRAGONS – Marta Kost

Meet Marta Kost who is our 2D artist.

We asked Marta some questions about her work at QLOC and more!

Check out her answers below.

What’s your job at QLOC?

I’m a 2D artist. That means doing all kinds of graphic related tasks – from creating character concepts to fixing textures.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the general atmosphere of our small graphic corner. I especially like designing things and then seeing them in various games. With QLOC, you never know what title you will work on next and that’s pretty exciting!

Do you have any special powers?

I managed to grow my hair past my knees, I guess not many people can say that. I’m also a cat whisperer…

Which game from the ones you’ve worked on is your favorite?

Lately I don’t have that much time to play games. I have a big sentiment for working on Street Fighter DLCs and I really like strategy games, so I can’t wait for the premiere of King’s Bounty II.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love riding my trusty bike. When it was more possible than in current times, I enjoyed travelling and meeting my friends from various countries.
I’ve also been a huge anime fan since Polonia1 times. Even my nickname comes from Dragon Ball Z. Other than that, I love horror and sci-fi movies.
I post my personal art on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/radittzart/

Are there any work-related anecdotes you could tell?

It’s not an anecdote but I love how we used to “sing” Happy Birthday to every lucky person. The person had to stand there awkwardly before receiving the gift. It was getting worse every time and at some point, you couldn’t even recognize the original melody… I adored it so much!

What was the most captivating task you had in QLOC?

Making concept art for King’s Bounty II. Mostly because creating characters is always my favorite kind of task and I also enjoyed working with our Russian partners.

How many games have you worked on?

It’s hard to say because sometimes I only did a single, small graphic for one title and then would spend two years working on another… That’s pretty typical for working 8 years at a company that does such a variety of projects.

Would you like to nominate one of your teammates?

I’d like to nominate Mgdalena Wilczek 🙂
