MEET #QLOCDRAGONS – Agnieszka Szajewska

Meet Agnieszka “Gokunobaka” Szajewska  who is our 2D artist.

We asked Agnieszka some questions about her work at QLOC and more!

Check out her answers below.

What’s your job at QLOC?

Illustration, concept art, localisation, UI design and more. You could say I’m basically a one-artist army 🙂

What do you like most about your job?

Some of the things I enjoy most about my job is that one day I create wallpaper illustrations for our office, the next day I turn 36×36 textures into 512×512 textures, do some localisation or UI work and on another day I draw concept art and illustrations for clients. I love variety and challenges, so trying new things is always exciting.

Do you have any special powers?

I tend to leave everything to the last minute – that’s my special power. Suddenly, it turns out that I do not require sleep and can draw like crazy to finish in time. Somehow, it works for me, but I do not recommend it 😉

Which game from the ones you’ve worked on is your favorite?

My gamedev adventure began 8 years ago with drawing character illustrations for Ultra Street Fighter and working with my first “serious” client, so this project will always have a special place in my heart.

What do you do in your spare time?

I draw anime “husbandos” for my social media, I’m also learning 3D design in my spare time. Since May 2020 I got myself into aquatic madness. I’m currently hoarding 10 aquariums, each with betta fish and a lot of shrimp. Because of this, my “offish” is a nice place to work and spend time in, even during a pandemic! When I’m not drawing for clients, I’m drawing for my future personal projects. You can check put my illustrations at and my aquatic mayhem at I’m also the happy mom of a dog and an annoying old parrot.

Are there any work-related anecdotes you could tell?

“Make it more gorgeous”.

What was the most captivating task you had in QLOC?

Working on the “Tales of” series remaster was a dream-come-true, because I’ve always been a fan of the series. It was awesome to see how it was made from behind the scenes. Thanks to that experience, I’ve learned how to manage big projects and make everything look consistent with the game. It was draining sometimes, but, in the end, I’m proud of our graphic team because we did our best to make it look pretty! 🙂

How many games have you worked on?

Ultra Street Fighter, Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Zestiria, Ni No Kuni, Mortal Kombat, Hitman, God Eater, Europa Universalis IV, Dead Rising, Devil May Cry, Dragons Dogma, Yakuza and probably some more which I don’t remember 😉

Would you like to nominate one of your teammates?

Marta Kost – her hair is plotting to take over the world.
